Job Title: Accounts and Administrative Officer
Qualification:
- Minimum qualification: HND (Higher National Diploma) in Accounting, Administration, or a related field
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in accounting or administrative roles, preferably within an NGO
Key Responsibilities:
- Float / Imprest Management:
- Managing and processing float and imprest transactions
- Ensuring timely retirement and accurate recording of floats and imprests
- General Ledger Maintenance:
- Recording and verifying financial transactions in the general ledger
- Reconciling bank statements and resolving discrepancies
- Audit Support:
- Assisting in internal and external audits
- Providing documentation and information to auditors
- Compliance and Regulatory:
- Ensuring compliance with financial and organizational policies
- Enforcing adherence to NGO policies and standards
- Preparing and submitting required financial reports to regulatory bodies
- Financial Analysis:
- Conducting financial analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Providing financial insights to support decision-making processes
- Administrative Support:
- Handling office administrative tasks such as scheduling, correspondence, and record-keeping
- Assisting with administrative functions to ensure smooth office operations
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborating with other departments to gather financial information and provide support
- Communicating financial and administrative information effectively to stakeholders
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of financial and administrative regulations and standards
